Tournaments
Use this page to run a golf tournament: sign players up, make the groups, hold the tee sheet, and keep scores.
Quick steps
- Click Tournaments in the top navigation, then New Tournament. Enter the Name, Course, Event Date, Start Type (Shotgun or Tee-time Start), Max Players, Holes and Entry Fee. Save.
- On the tournament page, click + Add Player for each player. Enter their Player Name and Handicap Index.
- When sign-up is done, click Generate Pairings to split players into groups.
- On the day, click Start Tournament and confirm Block tee sheet?. The course's tee times are held for the event.
- Click Scorecard next to a player, enter their Strokes for each hole, and click Save Scorecard. The Leaderboard updates.
- When play is over, click Complete. The held tee times open for booking again.
Start Tournament doesn't cancel groups already booked on those tee times. It tells you whose they are so you can call them.
Common questions
A player is missing from the pairings. They're on the waitlist — players added after Max Players is reached go there, and pairings leave them out.
Someone dropped out. Can I redo the groups? Yes. Click Generate Pairings again. It replaces the groups.
The scorecard has no par. Enter your holes in Course Holes.
How is the net score worked out? Gross strokes minus the player's handicap index.

Tournaments keep a golf event in one place: who's playing, who plays with whom, the tee times it takes over, and the scores. Click Tournaments in the top navigation.
The page lists Upcoming tournaments (with name, date, start type, players and status) and Past Tournaments.
Creating a Tournament
Click New Tournament and fill in:
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Name and Description | What the event is called and any details. |
| Course | The tee sheet the tournament is played on. Start Tournament holds tee times on this course, and pairings are sized and spaced by it. With only one course it's picked for you. |
| Event Date | The day of the tournament. |
| Start Type | Shotgun (every group starts at the same time on a different hole) or Tee-time Start (groups go off one after another from the first tee). |
| First Tee Time | When play starts. Required for shotgun starts, and only shown for them; a tee-time start begins at the course's first tee time. |
| Registration Opens / Registration Closes | For your records. |
| Max Players | The field size. |
| Holes | 9, 12 or 18. |
| Entry Fee | Shown on the tournament page. |
A new tournament starts as Draft. Use Edit to change its Status (Draft, Registration open, Registration closed, In progress, Completed or Cancelled), but use the buttons on the tournament page to start and finish it, because Start Tournament is what holds the tee times. Setting the status to Completed or Cancelled here opens its held tee times again, the same as Complete.

Registering Players
On the tournament page, click + Add Player and enter the Player Name, Handicap Index, Email and Phone. Enter the handicap index with up to one decimal, for example 12.4.
Once Max Players is reached, new players are added to a waitlist instead.
The Registrations list shows each player with their handicap (HCP) and a Scorecard link.
Pairings
Click Generate Pairings when registration is done. Brother POS splits the registered players into groups the size of the tournament course's Max Party Size, in the order they registered. Waitlisted players are left out.
- Shotgun: each group gets a starting hole, group 1 on hole 1, group 2 on hole 2 and so on.
- Tee-time start: each group gets a tee-off time, starting at the course's first tee time and spaced by its interval.
If you have more than one course and haven't picked the tournament's Course, you're asked to choose one (Edit → Course) first.
Clicking Generate Pairings again replaces the groups, so you can redo them after late changes.

Starting the Tournament
On the day, click Start Tournament and confirm Block tee sheet?. The tournament moves to In progress and tee times on its course are blocked so nobody else can book them:
- Shotgun: every tee time that day.
- Tee-time start: enough tee times from the first tee time onwards to fit Max Players.
Blocked tee times show grey on the tee sheet as "Tournament: name", and can't be booked at the register or online.
Bookings already on those tee times aren't moved or cancelled. If there are any, Start Tournament tells you how many and whose they are, so you can contact them.
When play is over, click Complete. The tee times held for the tournament are opened for booking again. Removing a tournament does the same.

Scorecards and the Leaderboard
Click Scorecard next to a player. The card lists each hole with its Par and SI from your course holes. Enter the player's Strokes for each hole and click Save Scorecard. You can save part-way through the round and come back.
The card shows the Gross Total and the Net score (gross minus the player's handicap index). Each score is coloured against par: eagle, birdie, bogey or double bogey and worse.
Once anyone has a score, a Leaderboard appears on the tournament page, ranked by net score (or gross when there's no handicap), with front nine (F9), back nine (B9), Gross, Net and Thru: the number of holes played, or F when the player has finished.
