Member Rates and Prepaid Rounds

Admin Manager

Use this page to sell golf season passes (member green-fee rate) and prepaid round packs.

Quick steps

  1. Create a membership plan as usual. See Membership Plans.
  2. For Plan Type, pick Recurring membership for a season pass, or Class pack / punch card for a round pack (for example 10 rounds).
  3. In Program / Discipline, type golf — all lower case. Save the plan.
  4. For a season pass, make sure you have green fee rates with the Member player type.
  5. At the register, on a walk-in, look the member up and tap Find. The lead golfer gets the member rate, or tick Use a prepaid round to use one round from their pack.
Spelling matters

Only plans whose Program / Discipline is exactly golf count. "Golf" with a capital G, or "Golf pass", won't work.

Common questions

Does the member's whole group get the member rate? No. Only the lead golfer (the first golfer on the booking). Everyone else pays for their own player type.

Can members use a round pack when booking online? Only when they're signed in to their member account on your site. Otherwise they use it at the counter.

How do I see how many rounds a member has used? Open their membership. The Round Usage History panel lists every round used.

The register says "… has no active golf membership." Check the plan's Program / Discipline is exactly golf, and that the membership is active (with rounds left, for a pack).

More detail: setting up a golf plan

Golf uses the regular Memberships feature for two kinds of golf membership:

KindMembership plan typeWhat the golfer gets
Member rate (season pass, annual membership)Recurring membershipThe lead golfer is charged your Member green fee rate whenever they book.
Prepaid round pack (for example 10 rounds)Class pack / punch cardEach round uses one pass from the pack and covers the lead golfer's green fee and cart.

Setting Up a Golf Plan

  1. Create the plan as usual. See Membership Plans.
  2. Choose the Plan Type: Recurring membership for a member rate, or Class pack / punch card for a round pack.
  3. In Program / Discipline, type golf, all lower case. This is what tells Brother POS it's a golf membership. The suggestions in that box are for gyms, so type it yourself.
  4. For a member rate, make sure you have green fee rates with the Member player type (and Twilight member if you use twilight pricing). A season pass with nothing more to pay can use a Member rate of $0.
Spelling matters

Only plans whose Program / Discipline is exactly golf count. "Golf" with a capital G, or "Golf pass", won't give the member rate or let the pack be used for rounds.

When Golf is on, your online memberships page is titled Green Fee Packages. See Online Signup.

More detail: where it applies, and tracking rounds

Where It Applies

At the register

On a walk-in, look the member up under Member or prepaid round pack (optional) and tap Find:

  • With a member-rate membership, the lead golfer gets the member rate automatically.
  • With a round pack, tick Use a prepaid round to use one pass for the lead golfer.

Online

On your booking page, members type the email or phone on their membership into Member rate (optional). With an active member-rate membership, the lead golfer is charged the member rate.

Prepaid round packs are only used online when the member is signed in to their member account on your site. Someone who just types an email or phone never uses up a pack, so nobody can spend another member's rounds. Members who aren't signed in redeem their round at the counter instead.

Who it covers

Only the lead golfer (the first golfer in the booking) gets the member rate or the prepaid round. Everyone else in the group pays for their own player type.

Tracking Rounds Used

Open the member's membership (see Members). A round-pack membership has a Round Usage History panel listing each round used: the date, How it was used (Online booking or Walk-in (counter)), the holes, a link to the tee-time booking, and who redeemed it (Member (online) for online bookings).

When the pack reaches zero it's used up and no longer gives rounds.

A membership with rounds recorded against it can't be deleted; cancel it instead to keep the round history.
