Golf Overview
Use this page to see what the Golf features do, where to find them, and the order to set up your course.
At a glance
- Golf in the top navigation opens the daily tee sheet. Course setup is in its ⋮ (More Actions) menu.
- Set up your course once — tee times, green fee rates, cart fee and holes — then tee times are ready to book two months ahead.
- Golfers can book themselves online. Staff book on the tee sheet.
- Clerks check groups in and take walk-ins from the Tee Times tab on the register.
- Tournaments, Leagues, Cart Fleet and Golf Reports each have their own menu item.
New to golf? Start with Course Setup, then The Tee Sheet and Pro Shop Check-In and Walk-Ins.
Golf turns Brother POS into a pro shop system. You set up your course once: its tee times, holes and green fees. Then you book tee times on a daily tee sheet, golfers book themselves online, and the register checks them in and charges their green fees and cart fees.
Turning It On
The Golf features appear once Golf is switched on for your store. If you run a course and don't see Golf in the top navigation, contact support.
When Golf is on, admins and managers see these items in the top navigation:
| Menu item | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Golf | The daily tee sheet. Course setup is in its menu. |
| Tournaments | Tournaments: registrations, pairings, scorecards and a leaderboard. |
| Leagues | Leagues: weekly league nights, teams and standings. |
| Cart Fleet | Your list of golf carts and their status. See Course Setup. |
| Golf Reports | Golf Reports: bookings, occupancy and green fee revenue, with a CSV export. |
These pages are for admins and managers only. Clerks work golf from the register, which gets a Tee Times tab for check-in and walk-ins. See Pro Shop Check-In and Walk-Ins.
Setting Up a Course
Work through these in order the first time:
- Create a tee sheet for each course (or each nine you book separately): first and last tee time, the gap between tee times, and how many golfers fit in a group. See Course Setup.
- Add green fee rates: what each type of golfer pays for 9, 12 or 18 holes, at what times and on which days. See Green Fee Rates.
- Set the cart fee: what a golfer pays to take a cart. See Cart Fee.
- Enter your holes (par, yardage and stroke index), used by tournament scorecards. See Course Holes.
- Open the tee sheet (Golf in the top navigation) and check today's tee times are there.
- Share your online booking page with golfers. See Online Tee-Time Booking.
- Optional: sell season memberships or prepaid round packs. See Member Rates and Prepaid Rounds.
When you save a new tee sheet, Brother POS creates its tee times for today and the next 60 days. Every night it adds the next day, so there are always about two months of tee times ready to book.
How a Round Flows
- Booked: from the tee sheet, from the online booking page, or as a walk-in at the register.
- Priced: each golfer's green fee comes from your rates, based on their player type, the number of holes and the tee time. A cart fee is added for each golfer who takes a cart.
- Checked in: at the register, a clerk checks the group in; their fees go into the cart and the clerk takes payment.
- Completed or No show: rounds that were played are marked complete (automatically overnight, or with Complete on the booking), and groups that never came can be marked No-show.
- Reported: the booking shows up in Golf Reports and its CSV export.
