Admin Manager Owner

Use this page to check every void and discount your staff gave at the register: who did it, whether a manager approved it, and the reason they picked.

Cashiers can void sales and give discounts on their own by default, so they don't have to call a manager over for every one. This report is how you keep an eye on it.

Quick steps​

  1. Click Reports in the top menu, then Voids & Discounts (under Customers & staff).
  2. Pick the dates with Today, This Week, Last Week or This Month, or set your own and click Filter.
  3. The cards at the top show how many voids and discounts there were, and what they added up to.
  4. By staff member shows each person's totals. On own permission counts the ones nobody else approved.
  5. Scroll down for the full lists. Each row shows when it happened, the receipt (click it to open the sale), what was voided or discounted, the amount, who did it, who approved it, and the reason.
  6. To look at one person, pick them under Staff and click Filter. Click Export CSV to download the list.

Owners with more than one store: open the Owner portal, click Reports, then the Voids & Discounts tab. It shows every store you own, with a Store column.

Common questions​

What counts as a discount here? Discounts a cashier gave by hand, on the whole order or on one item. Sales, free items, loyalty rewards and promo codes apply by themselves, so they aren't listed.

What does "Own permission" mean? The person's role is allowed to void or discount, so nobody else had to approve it. When a manager typed their PIN to approve it, the manager's name shows instead.

What is "Unpaid order cancelled"? A phone or online order that was cancelled before anyone paid for it. No money changed hands.

I'd rather cashiers ask a manager first. Turn off Void Sales or Apply Discounts for the Clerk role under Settings → Manage Users → Role Permissions. The register then asks for a manager's PIN, and the manager's name shows in this report. See Roles & Permissions.

Can a manager see this? Yes. Managers and admins can open it from Reports. Cashiers can't.
