The Delivery App & Modes
Use this page to get the TrafficDelivery app open, signed in, and set to the right mode for the person holding the phone.
Quick steps
- Install TrafficDelivery on the phone (or, on a computer, open your store's POS address with
?display=deliveryon the end). - On the Connect to Store screen, type your Store Code.
- Sign in with your Brother POS email and password, then enter your 4-digit PIN.
- Tap the ⚙ button in the top-right corner to open Settings.
- Pick a mode: Driver (you only drive), Dispatcher (you hand out deliveries from the store) or Both (you do it all yourself).
Delivery needs Enable Local Delivery turned on for your store. See Turning On Delivery.
Common questions
It says "This account can't do deliveries". Only staff with the Driver, Manager or Admin role (or a custom role built on Driver or Manager) can use the app. Clerks can't. Ask an admin to change your role — see Drivers.
Which mode should I pick? One person doing everything: Both. A driver who only drives: Driver. Someone at the store coordinating drivers: Dispatcher. The choice is saved on that phone.
How do I sign out? Tap ⚙, then Sign out. If you still have stops on your route, the app asks you to confirm with Sign out anyway or Stay signed in.

Opening the App
- Native app: install TrafficDelivery on the phone. The first time it opens, it asks for your Store Code on the Connect to Store screen. Then you sign in with your Brother POS email and password, and enter your 4-digit PIN. The native app is the one to use on the road. It adds push alerts in Dispatcher and Both modes and opens texts and maps on the phone.
- Browser: add
?display=deliveryto your store's POS address, for examplehttps://yourstore.brotherpos.ca/pos?display=delivery. This opens the same app in a web browser, which is handy for dispatching from a desktop.
Sign-in uses each person's existing Brother POS account. Only staff with the Driver, Manager or Admin role, or a custom role built on Driver or Manager, can use the delivery tools. Clerks can't: the app tells them This account can't do deliveries. See Drivers.

The Three Modes
Tap the ⚙ button in the top-right corner to open Settings, then choose a mode. Your choice is saved on that device, and a device that has never picked one starts in Driver mode.

The top-left corner of the app always shows your current mode. The Settings screen also has Sign out. If you still have stops on your route, it warns you first and asks you to tap Sign out anyway or Stay signed in. On the Settings screen, Both is described as "drive your own stops and dispatch to others from one screen."
- One person doing it all? Use Both.
- A driver who only drives? Use Driver, so customer texts go through whoever is dispatching.
- Someone at the store coordinating drivers? Use Dispatcher.

What Each Mode Does
- Driver mode covers the whole driver workflow. You claim or receive stops, optimize, navigate, send the "almost there" alert, mark stops delivered (recording how the customer paid) or couldn't-deliver. Its tabs are Current, Stops, Map and Available. See The Driver App.
- Dispatcher mode has three tabs, Live, Map and Assign. It lets you assign deliveries to drivers and watch active deliveries. You also text customers when a driver is about 5 minutes away, and you can see today's stops on a map. See Dispatcher Console.
- Both mode puts it all on one screen with four tabs: My Route, Available, Dispatch and Map. A solo operator can drive and dispatch without switching modes. Dispatch holds the "almost there" cards and the list of deliveries to assign, and Map shows your own stops. Both mode has no Stops tab, so ↕ Optimize and 🗺 Navigate route are only in Driver mode. In the native app, Both mode also buzzes with "Customer ~5 min away" alerts, just like Dispatcher mode.
While the app is on screen, routes, the available list, the assign list and the dispatch feed reload about every 25 seconds. When you come back to the app after using another one, they reload straight away.

Switching Between TrafficPOS and TrafficDelivery
If a device has both the TrafficPOS register app and the TrafficDelivery app installed, an optional app switcher lets staff jump between them with one tap:
- In TrafficPOS, a truck button (Open TrafficDelivery) in the top bar opens the delivery app.
- In TrafficDelivery, a POS ↗ button in the header opens TrafficPOS.
The switcher buttons only appear in the installed apps, not in a web browser, and only when the app switcher is turned on for your store. It's off by default. Contact support if you'd like it turned on.

Best Practices
- Set the mode once per device. For example, put a shared dispatch tablet in Dispatcher mode and each driver's phone in Driver mode.
- Use Both for solo shifts. If one person covers both jobs on a slow day, Both mode avoids switching back and forth.
- Drive with the native app. The browser version is fine for dispatching, but drivers get the smoothest experience from the installed app.
