Analytics & Tracking
Brother POS lets you connect your storefront to popular analytics platforms so you can track visitor behavior, measure conversions, and run targeted ad campaigns. You can add Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Facebook Pixel, and Google Tag Manager (GTM) -- all from the storefront settings.
Accessing Analytics Settings
- Log in to the Admin Panel.
- Navigate to Storefront.
- Click Edit on your storefront.
- Open the Settings tab.
- Scroll to the Analytics & Tracking section.
Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
GA4 tracks page views, user sessions, and events on your storefront.
Setup
- In the Google Analytics Measurement ID field, enter your GA4 measurement ID.
- Click Save.
Your measurement ID looks like G-XXXXXXXXXX. You can find it in your Google Analytics account under Admin > Data Streams > Web -- the measurement ID is displayed at the top of the stream details page.
Go to analytics.google.com, click Admin (gear icon), then Data Streams under your property. Select your web stream (or create one) and copy the Measurement ID starting with G-.
Facebook Pixel
Facebook Pixel tracks visitor activity on your storefront so you can build audiences and measure ad performance in Meta Ads Manager.
Setup
- In the Facebook Pixel ID field, enter your pixel ID.
- Click Save.
Your pixel ID is a numeric string (e.g., 1234567890123456). You can find it in Meta Events Manager under Data Sources.
Google Tag Manager (GTM)
Google Tag Manager is a container that can hold GA4, Facebook Pixel, and many other tracking scripts. If you prefer to manage all your tags from one place, use GTM instead of adding GA4 and Facebook Pixel individually.
Setup
- In the Google Tag Manager Container ID field, enter your GTM container ID.
- Click Save.
Your container ID looks like GTM-XXXXXXX. You can find it in tagmanager.google.com at the top of your workspace.
If you add both a GTM container ID and a standalone GA4 measurement ID, the GTM container takes priority and the standalone GA4 snippet is not loaded. This prevents duplicate tracking. If you want to use GA4, configure it as a tag inside your GTM container instead.
Which Option Should I Use?
| Scenario | Recommended Setup |
|---|---|
| I just want basic traffic analytics | GA4 measurement ID only |
| I want to run Facebook/Instagram ads | Facebook Pixel ID only (or with GA4) |
| I want both Google and Facebook tracking | GA4 + Facebook Pixel, or GTM with both configured inside |
| I use multiple tracking tools or need advanced triggers | GTM (manage everything in one container) |
Verifying Your Setup
After saving your tracking IDs:
- Visit your storefront in a browser.
- For GA4: Open the Google Analytics Realtime report -- you should see your visit appear within a few seconds.
- For Facebook Pixel: Use the Meta Pixel Helper Chrome extension to confirm the pixel fires on page load.
- For GTM: Use GTM's Preview mode to verify your container loads and tags fire correctly.
