Category Mapping
RezWeed groups every store's products into one standard set of categories so shoppers can filter the same way no matter which store they're browsing. Before your products can appear on your listing, you tell Brother POS which RezWeed category each of your own categories belongs to.
A product is only published to RezWeed once its category resolves to one of RezWeed's standard categories. If a category is left unmapped and its name isn't an obvious match, its products are hidden on RezWeed until you map it. This is deliberate -- the public directory only ever shows the standardized category names.
Where to map categories
- Go to Settings.
- Open the RezWeed section (visible once the integration is enabled).
- Find the Category mapping panel. It lists every one of your store's categories.
- For each category, choose the closest RezWeed category and, optionally, a sub-category.
- Click Save category mapping.
The category mapping has its own Save category mapping button, separate from the main Update Settings button. Use that button to save your mappings.
Saving your mapping automatically re-publishes your menu so products move into (or out of) the right RezWeed categories right away.
The RezWeed category set
You map each of your categories to one of these standard RezWeed categories:
Flower, Pre-Rolls, Vapes, Concentrates, Hash, Edibles, Beverages, Tinctures, Capsules, Topicals, CBD, Bongs, Accessories, Pet Products.
Many categories also offer standard sub-categories for a more precise fit, for example:

Choosing a sub-category is optional -- leave it as no sub-category and the products simply appear under the main category.
Smart matching, so you map less
Brother POS tries to save you work in two ways.
Automatic name matching (casing)
If one of your categories already has the same name as a RezWeed category and only differs by capitalization -- for example your Pre-rolls versus RezWeed's Pre-Rolls -- it is matched automatically. You don't have to map it by hand. Only genuinely different names need a manual mapping.
Parent categories flow down to their children
If you have sub-categories under a parent (for example AAAA and Smalls under a Flower parent), you usually only need to map the parent. Any child category with no mapping of its own inherits its parent's RezWeed category. This means one mapping on Flower can cover all of your flower quality tiers underneath it.
Mapping is inherited only when a child has none of its own. If a particular sub-category should go somewhere different, just map that child directly and it uses its own mapping instead.
Anything left as same as POS with no automatic match and no parent to inherit from resolves to nothing -- and its products stay hidden until you map it.
Hiding a whole category from RezWeed
Sometimes you want a category to exist in your POS and storefront but never appear on RezWeed (for example an internal or accessory grouping). Each category has a RezWeed control on its own edit form:
- Go to Products > Categories and edit the category.
- Un-check Show on RezWeed.
- Save.
Every product in that category is then removed from your listing, even if the category is otherwise mapped. Turn it back on to restore them.
Showing or hiding the brand per category
Some stores use the "brand" field as an internal supplier name they'd rather not show publicly. Each category also has a Show brand on RezWeed control:
- Leave it on to publish the brand/supplier name for that category's products.
- Turn it off to keep the brand private for that category.
This works together with the per-product brand toggle covered in Menu Sync -- if either the product or its category hides the brand, it stays hidden.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Solution |

| A category's products aren't on RezWeed | Make sure the category is mapped to a standard RezWeed category (or its name matches one exactly), and that Show on RezWeed is on for the category. |
| Products showing under the wrong RezWeed category | Check the mapping for both the product's category and its parent -- a child may be inheriting a parent mapping you didn't intend. Map the child directly to override. |
| Sub-category not appearing | A sub-category only shows if you selected one in the mapping. Leaving it blank publishes under the main category. |
| Brand name not showing | Confirm Show brand on RezWeed is on for both the category and the product. |
Best Practices
- Map parents, then only the exceptions. One mapping on a top-level category can cover all its children.
- Trust the casing auto-match. Categories that already match a RezWeed name don't need mapping.
- Map before you go live. Do your mappings before turning publishing on so your first listing is complete.
